Dried and nice and hard, kingcrackers encourage chewing. Chewing stimulates saliva production, which can flush food particles from the teeth and remove plaque. This is purely for preventative purposes!

The jaw muscles are exercised. Since most dogs enjoy chewing intensively, and the chewing motion also releases endorphins, dental cleaning is a wonderful side effect.
